When Paleontologist Peter Larson and his team from the Black Hills Institute made the world's greatest dinosaur discovery in 1990, they knew it was the find of a lifetime; the largest, most complete T. rex ever found. But during a ten-year battle with the U.S. government, powerful museums, Native American tribes, and competing paleontologists they found themselves not only fighting to keep their dinosaur but fighting for their freedom as well. Engels After about ten or twenty minutes, I thought: "So what?" It's nice that they managed to unearth a dinosaur, especially one of that size, but does the film really need to be an hour and three-quarters long? But then the FBI got involved, and suddenly the film took on a completely new dimension. It was interesting and another beautiful example of how the public system doesn't always work and can sometimes be absurd. Unfortunately, the consequences are not funny. ()
