Walking with Dinosaurs - The 3D Movie is het grootste 3D spektakel van de laatste 70 miljoen jaar. De tijd dat de dinosaurussen over deze planeet liepen. En de tijd dat Patchi, een Pachyrhinosaurus, uit zijn ei kruipt. Hij is de kleinste van het nest, maar ook de meest avontuurlijke. Zijn grote broer Scowler is de stoerste; hij wil vooral de leider van de kudde worden. En omdat dinosaurussen vechten om hun vrouwtjes, lijkt Scowler ook nog eens Patchi’s vriendinnetje Juniper in te pikken. Pas als de kudde in gevecht raakt met bloeddorstige Gorgosaurussen, kan Patchi laten zien hoe dapper hij echt is. Geholpen door een vogeltje dat Alex heet, beleeft Patchi het grootste avontuur van zijn leven! Walking with Dinosaurs is a film with breathtaking effects on par with Jurassic Park and the BBC documentaries, but the story is prosaic, due to the fact that it is primarily intended for a younger and less demanding audience. Still, I was amused by some of the one-liners, so I can't say it was a complete failure script-wise. This is another film that chose the popular journey of these formidable creatures from A to B, so I especially enjoyed the visuals, which were really top-notch. All in all, an enjoyable and simple diversion that's fine to watch and doesn't require any unnecessary thinking.

Animation and graphics are definitely strong points, but that's about it. The visuals of the BBC documentaries - BBC was also involved in this film - seemed much more visually appealing and, above all, more mature. Their informative function was very well-executed. In this case, that's fine, but the story is terribly cliché and even the dinosaurs themselves can't save it.
