The stylization is interesting, but a thriller with such a slow pace and lacking proper build-up truly requires directorial and scriptwriting courage. David Hare dared to tackle it, and the result is a film with interesting performances that isn't very engaging plot-wise. You probably won't enjoy the conclusion much because there's no real reason to.
