Loft vertelt het verhaal van vijf getrouwde mannen, die in het grootste geheim een loft delen voor hun buitenhuwelijkse activiteiten. Dat verloopt prima tot ze er op een ochtend het lijk vinden van een jonge vrouw. Geen van de vrienden kent de vrouw, weet waar ze vandaan komt en hoe ze terecht is gekomen in hun loft. Noodgedwongen proberen ze uit te zoeken wat er gebeurd is, maar al gauw beginnen de vijf elkaar te wantrouwen en blijkt dat ze veel minder van elkaar weten dan ze dachten! (Independent Films)

The term "erotic thriller" suits Loft better than the designation "crime story." It is not so much about solving a murder as it is about navigating a minefield of perversions, passions, intrigues, and manipulations among a successful group of friends, their wives, and mistresses. Middle-aged gentlemen are somewhat bored and have their quirks. However, they forget that every game has a price, and whoever loses will probably have to pay. It is solidly cast and sexually open, without sliding into cheap vulgarity or even pornographic one-dimensionality. The film also has good camera work. The screenplay is not flawless, as unnecessary literalness harms it, especially the addition a year later, which spoils the impression. However, in the end, I lean towards a weak four-star rating. Considering the knowledge of the twist, I can now pass on the Belgian original and the American remake. It would be the same in pale blue. Overall impression: 70%.
