Army of Crime offers a glimpse of France during WWII from the perspective of the Jewish resistance in Paris, a group that pushed their luck and ultimately paid the price. It's an interesting film with some powerful ideas, especially around France's stance on Jews during the war. However, the pacing was incredibly slow, and the runtime felt like a real slog, which is a shame given the importance of the subject. This is a story that should be seen across Europe to remind us all of our shared humanity and how perilous those times were—where even the smallest remark could lead to someone’s death. I really liked the concept, but with a shorter, tighter execution, it would have been far more impactful.
