Engels An unconventionally conceived film production of Shakespeare's classic, set against the backdrop of a high school musical, with a young man struggling to find happiness despite his sexual orientation at the forefront. Above all, the viewer needs to realise that the original version of “A Midsummer Night's Dream” is itself quite wild in story, so this must (or should) be reflected in any adaptation. The actors are generally likeable, with the teacher and the leader of the school musical being probably the best. In short, a film that may be naive, fairytale-like and simple, but on the other hand deals with real issues. ()
