In het jaar 2028 levert het miljardenbedrijf OmniCorp al jarenlang robots aan het Amerikaanse leger. Tot nu toe werden deze robots alleen in het buitenland ingezet maar het bedrijf wil nu ook hun omstreden technologieën in eigen land gebruiken. Wanneer politieagent Alex Murphy ernstig gewond raakt in Detroit grijpt OmniCorp de kans om van hem een half mens, half robot te maken. Het doel van Omnicorp is om in iedere stad een RoboCop te hebben, maar de multinational wordt geconfronteerd met Murphy's eigen wil en wraakzucht. (Universal Pictures International Netherlands)
