Earth confronteert ons door middel van indrukwekkende beelden en landschappen, uitgelicht door een oogverblindende zon, met de harde realiteit van het leven op onze planeet. De documentaire volgt hiertoe een ijsberenfamilie, een kudde olifanten en twee bultrug walvissen in hun vaste leefomgeving en toont de invloed van seizoenswisselingen daarop. Op indringende wijze wordt duidelijk hoe de opwarming van de aarde de overlevingskansen van vele diersoorten bedreigt. Het lukt de makers om in gebieden te filmen waar nog nooit eerder filmopnames zijn gemaakt. Zo wordt er gefilmd op ijzingwekkende hoogte op de Mount Everest. Earth is daarmee niet alleen de duurste documentaire ooit gemaakt, maar misschien ook de documentaire met de meeste impact. (Independent Films)

Earth contains some incredibly beautiful pictures that make you bate your breath in places, but they remain only pictures, even though it didn’t have to be this way.

Beautiful shots and camera work and a very nice soundtrack. If I'd seen it in the cinema I'd probably still be sitting there with my mouth hanging open.

Amazing shots and beautiful music accompany the viewer on a journey through Mother Nature. The series is goes into much more detail and offers much more all round, but the fact is that Earth shows the highlights and is nearly not so time-consuming. The only thing I was little disappointed about was that with Czech dubbing I couldn’t savor the narration by James Earl "Darth Vader" Jones.

A wonderful journey across our magical but humanly devastated planet. I only watched it in English and in poor quality, but the overall experience was quite impressive nonetheless. 100%
