The fifties are just like The Stepford Wives. Sugary sweet on the surface but mean old bitches inside. This film is exactly like this. It has an interesting premise but it takes place in an incredibly boring period. Fortunately, it is salvaged by the acting performances by Julianne Moore and Dennis Quaid.

Great actors, an idea that has been used a couple of times, all in a 1950s style. But the whole thing is so terribly cold that, apart from the main trio of actors, it basically has nothing to offer.
