The film can be appreciated for its engaged subject matter, but it has its issues. It feels contrived, patched together, exaggerated, and in many respects, unreliable. In rare accord, I can say that both the acting performances, screenplay, and directorial approach deserve two stars, and nothing stands out from the norm. This simply didn't succeed; many TV films from the 80s would have reliably outdone this piece. Overall impression: 45%.
