Circe

Circe’s days are spent quietly atop a cliff. Living in a cave carved out of the rock away from it all, she is known in the valley for her solitary life, her herding of pigs and her witchcraft skills. The butcher of the nearest village, a young and uncommunicative man, visits her as his ancestors did to obtain one of her prized pigs. In return, he is to bring her food and spend the night with her. One day the boy, tempted by the proposal of some foreigners who have recently arrived in the village, breaks the pact established with the woman and goes to the cave early.
