Soldado

During the bloody years of the Mexican Revolution, a teenage peasant discovers the lifeless body of a federal soldier in a cactus field. When he decides to steal the soldier’s uniform, the boy is captured by a wounded revolutionary fighter who mistakes him for an enemy. A painful journey across an inhospitable landscape confronts the young peasant and the revolutionary against each other but also forces them to recognize their mutual humanity. Finally, the revolutionary decides to release the boy, but soon their paths cross again one last time. (Guadalajara International Film Festival)
