In 1959, in the midst of Franco’s regime, the town of Escó was expropriated for the construction of a reservoir. Everyone left the town except the Guallar family, who refused to leave their house and cattle. Today, the brothers Félix, Baltasar and Evaristo Guallar are the only inhabitants.
