De geniale filmmaker Colin McKenzie is vreemd genoeg tot zijn dood totaal onbekend gebleven. In deze tijd wordt hij door Peter Jackson en Costa Botes herontdekt en op waarde geschat; hij is immers verantwoordelijk voor ontelbare technische vernieuwingen op filmgebied, zoals geluid en kleur in films. Some moments are very imaginative and humorous, the final "excerpt from the film" Salome, stylized as a black and white silent film, proves that Jackson can make anything, but overall this flight of fancy lacks humour. I was bored at times.
